Day 311

Good Evening

Today I finally had some relief from the Sx and it sure makes a difference, the cloudiness is going and I feel like I have a bit more energy. The weather has been cooler and I think this helps a lot, I have been getting hot flushes also. Today a friend from town who has been on Chemo Therapy for 18 months rang me up from the hospital where he has to go and have it, it was so nice to hear from him and the cancer in his liver is shrinking which is great news and all the way through he has been so positive about it all. He has kept in constant touch and I think we have given each other a lot of hope to see things through what ever may come for us both.

Its not easy for him as he has to travel back and forth to the hospital for treatment as well as in between for dressing changes, over an eighteen month period that's a lot of travelling considering it is a 6 to 7 hour round trip just for travelling, I take my hat off to him, a real champion.

Day 310

Hello again

Well we had some good rain here today and it was very much needed, it helped top up our water tanks and give the countryside a well deserved drenching. My Sx were better today, but still doing the hard yards with the TX. At times it feels like a dream that has been going on for nearly a year and find my mind ever drifting lately and thinking about the changes that have taken place, what and how will I feel after TX, will things be as they were or will this be a new chapter in my life.

What ever the outcome I know I have changed and I think it will be a change for the better, TX has taught me patience, humility and understanding, traits that can only be better for me....

Day 308 and 309

Hi All

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a safe one, my Sx after the Injection have been horrific to say the least, thank goodness I am near the end, I couldn't cope with to much more of these days from from TX hell. I am keeping up a good fight but to be honest its taking a toll on me and each day is getting harder to get through.

Keep well my Friends and on with the show...

Day 307

Hi

Tonight I had my 44th Injection and finished another box, now I am down to 1 box left finally, only have 4 more Injections to go and they cant come quick enough. Have to go for my week 44 blood test during this week coming and hopefully all will be good, still been feeling off sorts and today was a very mixed day again. My Son and his girlfriend went back home and the visit was great, I am so proud of him and they are going well together, I am happy he is settling down and met such a nice partner.

We had some rain today which was good and tomorrow if I can will have to clean our water filters on the gutters as they overflowed wasting some of the catchment. Another long night coming up, I can feel it already, not that I am wishing anything on myself, but after this long on Tx I know the signs, all is good though and I have the computer to keep me occupied in these times...

Have a great week everyone and smooth sailing.

Day 305 and 306

Merry Christmas All

Well Xmas Eve and Xmas Day all went well here in the bush and it was definitely the most different Xmas I have ever had, I actually took part and enjoyed the spirit of Xmas and mixed in with all our friends and relatives. Maybe the TX has given me back something and is making me re look at a lot of things in very different ways now, so for that I am thank full.

My Wife and Family have been so supportive to me and at times I have been a real hand full for them but they have rode it out.

In closing I would like to thank everyone for the special friendship and support on my journey this far and it sure is a team effort.

Thanx to my Tx Buddies Linda and Robert who are constant beacons in the darkness for me and I know in my heart these are my mates whom I will all ways cherish dearly.

Thank you also to the many other people who I have met and become friends with on the road of Tx and the happiness they have given me too.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and Safe Journey through Life...

Day 304

Hello

Well today my sx improved and had some welcome relief again, at times i don't really know how the heck I am feeling. The TX has definitely changed me, my outlook and perspective on things is very different from before TX commencement. Many days just bleed into another and its hard keeping track of where i am at times, but I new this was not going to be an easy venture and many times it seems insurmountable in the quest of going the full term, I can only imagine those that have done multiple treatments and the anguish that's associated with that. I have often thought about how one approaches this and the physical and mental strength that one needs to have, in saying that, these drugs can break the best of people quite easily no matter how strong you are, its in charge and what it dictates goes....

Day 303

Hi again

Today and tonight have been better then the last few days, still not over this weeks shot yet, but I expect tomorrow will be kinder. Just cant find even ground on this TX, probably because there isn't any that goes to plan anyway....

Still feeling very seedy and cloudy headed, apart from that every thing is good....

Goodnight All

Day 301 and 302

Hello All

Well Sunday was the same as the last 3 with the Sx knocking me around real bad and the day was a complete wash out, seem to be getting severe now and could do nothing.

Monday was also a so so day and felt still very drained and headache's all day, went to my GP visit and had the usual Ob's done and my weight has gone up another Kilo. I got results of my B12 and Folic acid bloods and the the B12 is borderline, but the iron has come down which is good for me.

I also had him listen to my chest and he thinks I am getting another chest infection and he gave me two repeats of Antibiotics for that. Tonight I had to lay down after tea as I felt I had a fever and the headache was very strong again and couldn't even muster the strength to talk to my friends on the phone as we do, but things are starting to ease now thank goodness.

Anyway another day tomorrow and getting closer each day......

Day 300

Hi

Well tonight I had my 43rd Injection and my 300th day on Tx, this year is disappearing fast as Xmas approaches, I had a reasonable day today and did some more small tasks.
Feeling glassy eyed again and have taken my Lagactil meds which soon i will start to reduce, next Thursday I have another blood test to get done and on Monday I go to my GP appointment, so its business as usual and another week bites the dust...... still cant believe I have been doing this for 300 days, feels more like 500 days.... LOL

Day 299

Hi

Well today was another roller coaster ride for me, in the morning I felt ok and just pottered around in my veggie patch and in the afternoon the Sx turned on there little shows as they do and I had some soreness again and pains around my liver area. At one time I even felt like I was going to pass out and had to go and lay down. Tomorrow night will be needle number 43 and it starts all over again, don't mean to whinge, I am am just so warn out and finding it tough going at the moment....

Day 297 and 298

Hello there

I haven't been really able to get my concentration going at all much lately and I think that the Tx is doing my brain in at times, I am also going back on to liquid sedative again now in prep for weaning off this nice little med and I wont miss this one either when I finish.

Its good to see more and more people finishing there Tx and having good outcomes, the hard yards can pay off, not always, but if the gods are smiling its a good sign....

Day 295 and 296

Hi

My health has been up and down the last few days and hard to get focused on anything and get on with things, my mouth and lips are still very sore and cracked and still over whelmingly tired and just have to sleep. Well time is marching on and each day I get through brings me closer to the end and that's the best incentive I have to get past all this.........

Day 294

Howdy All

Well today was not a good day after my needle, around 11.00 am the sides hit me with a vengeance and had to stay in bed the rest of the day, they were very intense and emotional. I was not ready for what was to come because usually Tuesday and Wednesday is bad, so you just cant pick it with this tx when it will turn nasty. Feel better now but far from OK and hopefully will be a better day tomorrow. That's about all for this entry as I am just plain worn out from all of this and looking to better days ahead....

Keep Well

Day 293

Hello

Well tonight had my 42nd Injection and now only 6 more to go, It has been 4 hours since I had it and I am starting to feel it, I always get glassy eyed and feel like I have some light grit in them at times. The day was good to me and spent some time with some visitors which keeps me social and out of my cave hiding away as I tend to do.

Looking forward to some cooler days which are predicted and some desperately needed rain to keep the dust down and green up the area once again.

Till tomorrow my friends and I wish you all a goodnight....

Day 292

Hi Everyone

Went to my GP today for results of my ultrasound which showed no bleeding, just some Gal stones that we knew I had previously, so that was good news. While there she mentioned that the edges of my mouth and lips were very dry and cracking and to keep putting lip balm on them and she also sent me for a blood test for my B12 and Folic acid levels to see whats happening there and if needed next week I will get a B12 Injection.

Finally coming out of the tiredness now and feeling a bit brighter and its nearly time for next Injection, funny how that works, you just get over last weeks and just in time to start a new weeks lot, ah well not long now.......Yes !!!

Day 290 and 291

Hello All

Haven't been feeling real flash the last couple of days and just cant seem to get over this lack of energy and concentration, nothing new here, but each week lately this Tx Sx is getting tougher again. I keep as positive as I can but I must say I am getting very weary now and extremely weak, not a good combination for this treatment, still doing very small jobs to help out and keeping busy is a good mind thing.

I often wonder what will be the outcome of all this, I know I am doing this to rid myself of Virus's and try and help my Liver, but at what cost to other issues, some I have never had till now and will these disappear after Tx finishes. I am staying focused on getting through all this and many other things that have come my way on this journey.....

Day 289

Me again

Another very hot day here today folks and another early retreat back indoors, ah the great Aussie summer with nice cooling storms of a night that light up the whole horizon. Felt so so today and my agitated moods are here again, typical Tuesday and Wednesday Sx, best for me to avoid people when this happens, which works good.

I am off to the next town tomorrow for my Ultrasound and have to fast for that, so I must not forget, make note to self here. At least its early and will avoid some off the heat and be back home before it builds up, its supposed to be another 40 C day.....

Might have an early night and try to get some shut eye....

Keep Well

Day 288

Hi

Went for my GP appointment today and had my usual Obs taken and my weight has increased to 64.9 Kgs, wow finally adding some on. Talked to her about a few small problems I have been having and also told her of my Specialist appointment and what was said. Sides were fair again but the total lack of energy is a battle, cant do much without constantly resting, so I do and all works out OK.

Have to go for a Ultrasound on Wednesday morning in the next town and is booked in early so I can fast during the night, I have had some more unexplained bruising coming out on my leg and must have bumped it or something, not sure, but will have to watch things more closely what I am doing..

Went out for Tea tonight with some friends and at first was nervous about going, but once I got there and settled in I enjoyed myself thoroughly.....

Day 287

Howdy

Today's sx after my needle last night have been fair today and friendly, we got out late in the day and prepared some more of our veggie garden in the shade house. Well my wife had to do most of the strenuous work as my energy levels are zilch at the moment, lucky I have her to help me with this and getting through TX and putting up with me....

Another scorcher day here with 41 C and most of the day was spent indoors and resting, cant wait to finish TX and be able to get back into life again. Still have strange times and thoughts but I know it's the Interferon mind games thing and tend not to dwell on these much now.

Had some great phone calls today from fellow TX people and post TX as well, good to keep in touch and talk about all the weird stuff that goes on and have a great laugh about it, its all about kindness and consideration of other's really, isn't it.........

Have a Great Week Everyone

Day 285 and 286

Hello All

Friday I went to the Liver Clinic in Brisbane and had my appointment with the Specialist and asked some questions about the soreness in my liver area and about my TX length as well. He checked my Liver and was only mild swelling but he said my upper stomach was very rigid and I may have either strained myself or injected into the muscle resulting in some bleeding due to my low Platelet count, so I will have to get an Ultrasound done to check on this. In regard to my length of TX, I will be finishing at 48weeks and around the 23rd of January 2010, woo hooo..... Lol.
There will be no increase with my Interferon and Ribavirin as the current dose is about all my body
can endure, so he said this will be fine, they also gave me some bllod test requests for week 44 and week after I finish tx, the later test will be a PCR for HBV and some other HBV tests and also FBC
Elft and Thyroid, so that will be some blood let day. I am also going to start reducing my Lagactil medicine in readiness for EOT.

Saturday I went to the local markets and had a good look around, took a bit out of me covering the place and with the heat, I had to stop often and rest. Slept in the afternoon and kept thinking about my Injection to come later in the evening. Funny how things play on your mind and at times I think its best to avoid thinking too much about things, the Tx seems to play lots of mind tricks and its easy to get caught up on things. Well had my 41 needle tonight and nearly mucked it up as the pen didn't click properly and I had to put it back in and finish it, cant be helped and such as life, so far so good....... Be careful what you wish for John.........

Day 283 and 284

Hello

Tuesday was a fairly good day sx wise and I managed to get outdoors and potter around the yard, I find this helps with my concentration or lack of it whilst on Tx. I have noticed my gums are getting sore now and I hope its just thrush, which I will have to start taking those meds again to combat that. Also the temperatures have been lower and I have planted some more veges in our shade house...

Wednesday I am feeling a bit tired again, probably from the day before, I pace myself as well as I can and try not to over do things, but the problem is when you have some good days you tend to want to not waste them and get as much done as you can. It's not always the best move but hey I feel as though I have to contribute something towards helping out the family.

Tomorrow I will be going to the big city Hospital and seeing the Liver Specialist and have some very important questions to ask him, the trip takes quite a while as I have stated before and I am a bit nervous about some things, but will have to face the music, just hope its a song I like ...LOL

Day 282

Me again

Having a big battle with fatigue and brain fog at the moment, I think the fog gets thicker some days then others. Feeling quite tired and to be honest its not a bad thing as it does help with staying a sleep at night, as opposed to the frequent insomnia. Still feel very uncomfortable around my liver area and hope this subsides soon.

Well that's about all, as I am really drowsy at the moment and looking forward to bed....

Day 281

Hello Folks

Well as i said last night this roller coaster is a live and running full speed with all its inconsistencies and twists and turns, today Sx were different again and much lighter then yesterday, really cant lock this down, as if it goes from week to week, then day to day and hour by hour at times.

I have mentioned Pandora's Box before in my diary and as far as I am concerned that's exactly what it is, you really never know what your in for till you open it. Its not all bad and actually some days I have felt the best I have in years, so the taste of a life without these two virus's will be very welcome and something that I will cherish dearly to be able to participate with my family, friends and be at ease with myself.....

Got some blood results back today...... HB 107 -- Wcc 1.2 -- Neuts 0.65 -- Platelets 58

Day 280

Hi

I just cant seem to get rhyme or reason to the effects of TX, there doesn't seem to be any, up till about a month or so back the Sx after the Injection didn't seem to come on till Tuesday and Wednesdays being my worst days. Lately the next day after the Injection it hits me like a ton of bricks and have to stay in bed nearly all day, it's getting that bad and very hard to combat. I do get some relief late Sunday night and things aren't as intense, thank goodness.

I am still in for the long haul with this and I will finish this TX. A bit of irony here is that the Med's that are helping me to get better are making me so sick at times, I suppose its the way it is and things could always be a lot worse without TX and progress into some other not so nice conditions....

Take Care and Have a Good Week ahead...

Day 279

Hi There

Tonight I had my 40th Injection and at times it felt like it was eternity away, but now it has come and gone and on with the show, had a good day today and went out with my brother and a friend for a drive down to an old heritage restored railway station from 1910. There was the old part of the line still there and 6 carriages on show and being restored, also had a look at the old turntable

where they used to turn the Locomotives around. After that we made our way back to town along a road that follows the Brisbane River and the mountains and scenery was terrific with lots of cattle and new born calves every where, some in paddocks and others by the sides of the road.

Feeling a bit glassy eyed as I write this tonight, nothing unusual about this as its a regular thing that happens 3 or 4 hours after my Injection, but all is well and feeling sort of Ok so far...

I must say I really enjoyed today and made a nice change indeed.....

Day 278

Hello again

Today I had a fair sort of day and managed to get some more unfinished jobs inside the house done and finalised. Slept in the afternoon and awoke with a headache which took some time to settle, all good now and hopefully get a good night's sleep.

I was thinking about all the Meds and associated third party meds that go with Tx, not only is there the Interferon and Ribavirin but you have to have Panadol, Anti-Depressants, Sedatives, Rash cremes and potions, Hand Wash, Special Shampoo, Thrush lozenges, Eye Drops, Lip Balm and the occasional Anti-biotics and Mouth Wash.

With all this one could be considered to be well armed in the fight of a life time and all these Meds each play an important roll. Some figures on just the Tx side is there are 48 PegIntron Pens and 1689 Rebetol Capsules to be taken approximately, no wonder people on Tx rattle after a while LOL ...

On to the weekend all ready and I hope you all have a good one.....

Day 277

Hi

Had my bloods taken today in preparation for next weeks Liver Clinic appointment and the lady collecting the samples had some difficulty with my veins and had to do it a couple of times with different size needles and then it was stop start, so have soreness and bruising there. Just par for the course these days .... LOL.

Looking forward to next weeks visit with herpetologist to see if I can find out what is going to happen with my TX, whether it finishes at 48 weeks. I have 8 needles to go after this Saturday night and its a good feeling knowing that if I finish at the 48 week mark, I can look forward to getting well and returning to some sort of normal life again, although what is normal at times, I don't remember....

Day 273 to 276

Hi Everyone

Haven't posted for the last couple of days as I have been totally exhausted riding on this merry go round of TX Sx, you just never know whats in store next, the cruelest lucky dip I have ever bought into. My energy levels and aches, pains and headache's have been very severe and my liver area is swollen, GP seems to think I maybe having a flare up of virus activity with the HBV and I am off to see Liver Specialist Friday 4th December and will be getting him to check things out.
It's a good life if you don't weaken as they say and at times I have been so week cant even get out of bed, but hopefully things will improve and I can knuckle down and get back on with it....
We had some visitors stay over for a few days and that was good and I enjoyed the company, it was a nice change because even unwell I managed to get some laughs and that always cheers you up...

Stay Strong Everyone...

Day 271 and 272

Hello all

Well the last few days have been complete washouts and have had no energy whats so ever, all I could do was just rest and take it very easy. It certainly is a wake up call after having some relief from Sx and it goes to show you who is boss when it comes to Interferon.

Had my 39th Injection tonight an I am now officially into single digits, only 9 to go, Hopefully tomorrow will be be better then the last few Sundays and will be keeping a positive attitude in that direction. I still reckon laughter and good friendship are the arch enemy of Tx Sx and many
times it is more effective then any third party meds that are supposed to be helpful.

I have had a big improvement in my moods and emotional sx with the Lagactil that my Liver Specialist prescribed and the family is also happy with my progress with this. I know that many medicines are described not to be taken by people with certain diseases, but many times the benefits out way the risks and give much needed help to various medical or mental situations.

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend and remember if you cant say anything nice, don't say anything at all......

Day 270

Hey there

Another hot day today ending with the usual summer storm, felt a bit better again today and went out to the next town to do some things. Its was good to get out and about for a while, the reflux is getting better and making me feel more comfortable.

Not sure whether I have a blood test this week or not, so will have to check that, still get plenty of brain fog and I have to have lots of notes to remind me..... LOL

Day 269

Howdy

Another very hot day again here today with temps in the 40's and it was 45 C yesterday, so not much chance in venturing outside, way to hot. Sx were reasonable and have started some reflux meds and also back on the Thrush Lozenges also, have to get these things under control. I am still taking my Lagactil medicine and it has helped my anger rages a lot, my Liver is still quite swollen and at this stage all I can do is virtually rest and take it very easy.

Well Thursday all ready tomorrow and this week is almost gone and Needle number 39 coming up this Saturday night, count down is on once I get to single figures, seems like an eternity at times.......

Day 268

Hi

Today I went to my GP and told her about some swelling and discomfort around my Liver area which is quite tender at the moment, this isn't the first time I have had this, I used to get it before TX as well, each time this occurs it seems to be more so then the last, so I thought better get it checked out. While there She had mentioned to me about another Biopsy at EOT to see where my cirrhosis is up to and also may have some tests for cancer, mmmmm will wait and see on that front, one thing at a time, flat out getting through TX at the moment and at times is not easy for me. I guess I will stack it with the rest of the crap and just get on with it....

Day 266 and 267

Hello

Well Sunday wasn't too bad a day and we had two lots of visitors over and had some good laughs also Sx was relatively kind and overall a good day. Still having trouble with my cracked tongue
and thrush, but making some headway with that with Meds...

Monday was a complete wash out, think I have been hit by a freight train, well it felt like it, I had absolutely no energy and was a weak as a kitten, I helped my wife change the bedding and I changed four pillow cases and was feeling faint and out of breath, think my bloods may be dropping again. The rest of the day all I could do was sit or lay down and just take it very very easy, better days to come....

Day 264 To 265

Hello Again

The last few days have been a bit of a wash out, usually Friday and Saturday's are my best days but this week for some reason, it's all different, just luck of the draw with Tx I suppose. Anyway I just rested and rolled with it and got through them.

Tonight I had my 38th Injection and so far so good, starting to feel it working and probably another night of restless broken sleep, but hey, I am used to that and soon better times are coming and will be looking forward to those. The Tx is sure one mixed bag of events and mystery......

Day 263

Hi

Today was a mixed sort of day, overslept this morning and was feeling drained, had my shower and brekkie and my Ribas and picked up a little. Decided to just take it easy and watched some TV which I am usually never in the mood for while on Tx. In the afternoon went outside and did some very small jobs and within an hour I was exhausted totally and aching, it wasn't as if I was carrying bricks or anything strenuous, just picking up some small sticks and twigs after the recent storms.

I have also noticed some discomfort around my Liver area again, don't know why that is going on and will talk to Gp about it next visit. The days are warming up here but the nights are still cool.

Have a good day

Day 261 and 262

Hi Again

Tuesday night I slept all night for the first time in ages and it helped me feel better the next day and also gave me some solid rest instead of the usual creature of the night. Wednesday was also an interesting day, I felt in the mood for something to do outside, so I spent some of my good feeling catching up on the chores. A friend of mine on the Australian HepC Forum has started her second round of Tx and I would like to wish her well on her quest to rid the virus from her system.

Not to sure whether its the extra meds I am taking or the Tx, but my rash has been acting up again
and causing me some discomfort, back to the drawing board and the box of lotions and potions
again....

Day 259 To 260

Hi Everyone

Everything well here and moving on from quite an horrific episode at a Forum lately where I was silenced for standing up for peoples rights and defending myself against false accusations. The problem with these places is that after a while certain elements only want things certain ways and have no problem eliminating or discrediting anyone who doesn't tow the party line. Anyway I am still here and not going to let people like these ruin my Tx, I went to the Gp over the last few days
and bloods are hovering and at this stage I have been told to stay on the .4 Interferon dose for now.
I also lost a bit of weight this week back down to 62.9 Kg which isn't too much of a loss. Gp gave me Lagactil Tablets this time around as its easier then the syrup and more readily available here.

Hope Everyone has a great week....

Day 255 To 258

Hi Everyone

Well the last week has been quite a mix of events and some changes for the better in many ways. Overall have had one of the best weeks for sides since I started TX, although my concentration seems much to be desired lately, cant blame TX for old age I suppose LOL....

Had my 37Th Injection tonight and only 11 to go if they don't decide to extend my TX, cant wait for single figures on the needle count., I really feel for those on 72 weeks and those who have gone through multiple TX, in saying that, the length of time no matter what it is, is a battle and a half and something we all understand and can relate to....

So looking forward to some more good days ahead and wishing you all a great weekend....

Day 254

Hello All

I have had an excellent day today and Sx have been good, except for tonight when I read some posts referring to one of our own members and the anguish I felt for this person as I said in a previous post about this topic, I felt as though when the chips are down at times, as they can be for us all on Tx or not, its at these times we need a helping supportive hand up. Many times I have been there in the depths of depression and emotional wilderness wondering which would be the best way to escape it all and to be totally honest I saw only one way out.

So lets not be too quick to assume who does what and why and the blame lays with whom, for whatever reason we have the diseases and illnesses we have, we certainly don't deserve to have them or be told that its your own fault due to someones behaviour or practices....

Be Kind to Each Other, You never know when you may be in the same Boat...

Day 253

Hello Again

Well went to my Monday Gp appointment this morning and I have actually put on more weight, I am now 63.4 Kg and that was a pleasant surprise. The sides are going well and have been feeling not too bad really overall, Did have some Siesta time in the afternoon, but that is par for the course at times and I just roll with it. While in town this morning also went and looked around at the shops and generally just relaxed.

My Bloods results which I got a copy of have in fact dropped a bit, but nothing too severe I don't think. The Gp asked how I was feeling with the Dose Reduction of the Interferon and I told her I felt much better for a Monday after the Injection, Tuesday and Wednesday seem to be the nasty Sx days after needle, but I have a feeling even these will be better, anyway time will tell..... Touches Wooden Head just in case.....

Day 249 To 252

Hello All

Sorry about not posting for a few days, everything AOK here, I had to go down to the Gold Coast to visit my Daughter and Partner and my little Grandson, had a good break and lots of enjoying moments with them all. I also met up with Cock Sparrow, Helga, Bec and Linda who runs the Australian Hepc Support Forums here in Oz, we had a great lunch and lots of laughs and discussions and a great time was had by all. This is the first time I have met up with other people on TX and there support people, was terrific to just be among our own kind so to speak.

Had my 36Th Injection Saturday night at the dose of .4 on the Redipen, owing to the liver clinic contacting me Friday and letting me know the Specialist said not to increase as my bloods have taken a hit again, wont know what they are till Monday when I go to the GP appointment and will get copies off her, also was told to have another blood test next week to keep a check on levels.

All in all a great weekend and looking forward to an even better week...

Day 247 and 248

Hi All

Tuesday
Every thing still well and I am definitely seeing some improvement in my days following the Injection. Did some more small jobs outside and generally keeping my mind occupied on other things, as I find this is very helpful.

Wednesday
Today was a bit of a washout, felt really tired all day and slept quite a lot, felt OK otherwise, just this overwhelming tiredness which I don't fight and retired to my trusty cave and rested. I awoke feeling much refreshed and clear headed. The rash is going well and I did have some Thrush starting but nipped that in the Budd quickly with my trusty anti Fungal Lozenges... We have also had some very good rain and it topped up our water tanks nicely for us and has given the surrounding countryside a nice green look instead of the desert brown that it was....

Be Good...

Day 246

Howdy

Had my Gp appointment today and all was good and even put on some weight finally, yes folks the walking skeleton now looks a bit more healthier. My weight now is 62.9 Kg and last week was 61 kg, at last something positive and woo hoo for that. Felt really well today for a Monday and hoping this keeps up, as I feel the slightly lower dose of Interferon is helping my moods and emotions. Have to go for another Blood test this Thursday and the GP also mentioned that I may have to extend TX to try and Kill the HBV as well, something I will face after I finish this 48 weeks for the moment, to be honest the thought of another 24 weeks is very daunting after this lot, but I suppose I am lucky to have this opportunity and help repair my body..

Day 244 and 245

Hi Everyone

Saturday
Had my 35Th Injection and the dose was .4 on the Redipen, all seemed OK and had a good night after it. Its nice to get some good sleep now and again as many nights after my injection are usually very unsettled.

Sunday
Still feeling OK and only had a slight headache, which I haven't had for a while, so basically just took things easy, its nearly been a week since I had my Swine Flu Vaccination and so far don't feel any adverse reactions to it, mind you when you feel like you have had the flu for nearly 9 months it's hard to tell really. The weather was hot and windy here today and not really good to be out in, so just stayed indoors and caught up on some reading....

Have a Great Week Everyone

Day 243

Hi There

Well another weekend is nearly upon us again and heading towards Christmas fast, my physical sides have been good again today, but my temper got a little frayed again today.Took some time out when I thought I was getting narky at times through the day, I rang the Clinic Nurse today to see if I could take .4 of the Interferon this Saturday instead of the .5as my weight has even gone lower from when I spoke to her last. The Nurse also asked me to get another Blood test next Thursday as to see if my bloods took a dive and if not, the Specialist said we will try 4.5 on the Redipen and see how this goes.

I am hoping that this reduction helps with my mental and emotional sides and if so I will be more than happy..

Day 242

Hello All

Well today was another quite day and still more sleeping was done, I just roll along now and don't fight this part of the Sx. One thing I feel I must say is that how fragile our lives can become and how others can have a positive effect on our emotions. The last few days have been strange to say the least emotionally and it sometimes takes the friendship and caring from others to balance one's self out.

Perspective changes on TX and a whole gambit of emotions and thoughts start flowing and more often then not intermingle with each other causing mental mayhem at times. When this occurs it tends to make me question things very deeply and often become very confused about my general direction in life, I know this is the Interferon playing its usual mind games with me and have learnt not to make any life changing decisions whilst on TX.

I would like to wish Jb all the very best at this point in time and to thank him for providing the funding for this forum and his ever supportive friendship to us all here at Nomads Wishing you well and a speedy return to us all Mate.

Day 238 to 241

Hello Everyone

Haven't posted diary entries lately as I have been working through some things here, I have been feeling OK and Injections are working out alright now.My bloods have risen quite a bit and is a good improvement from a month back, down side is my weight is now 61 kg and clothes are falling off me, but will address that next and sort that out. Cough is slowing down good and the rash now is nearly non existent, so pleased that has left the building and definitely don't ever want it back under any circumstances. Moods and temperament are so so and basically just retreating to my cave when this happens...

Day 237

Hi

Another day in paradise here today folks and enjoyed it very much, had my full strength Injection tonight and so far so good, trying to keep a positive outlook on this as it goes so as not to Jonah myself into something unpleasant, the mind can do some funny things at times..

A few fellow Nomads have enjoyed getting their SVR recently and its great news and good incentive to everyone else either contemplating or doing Tx that helps us get through this journey of a life time.

So to all these people I congratulate you all on an outcome of the best kind...

Day 236

Evening All

Had a phone call from Clinic today and was told my bloods have risen again, which is great news and they also told me to continue with the full dose of Redipen Injection I am a bit hesitant to do so, but will give it a go and see what happens.
Must admit I have enjoyed feeling better then usual lately and hope this wont upset the apple cart again.Ah well will worry about that then if it does and face it as usual, had another good day today and cough is only slightly improving, but its early days yet with meds for that, so don't expect miracles overnight so to speak..

Day 235

Howdy

Today I went down and had my bloods taken and hopefully tomorrow will get a call from the Liver Clinic regarding my Interferon dose for Saturday nights needle I am hoping to stay on the .4 setting of the Peg-Intron pen, as I feel i am coping much better indeed with the lower dosage. Did some more small jobs again and had a nap in the afternoon, still not a 100 % yet with visitors and tend to steer clear of them if i can, I am not being cruel or mean here, its just I find at the moment I don't have the patience.
Well looking forward to a good day again tomorrow and getting outside again and doing things, at an easy pace of course...

See you all Later
John
