Day 206 & 207

Hello Everybody

Have been going well and the itch is still improving, had some good days and have enjoyed them immensely I have been doing some cleaning out in preparation for a garage sale and going through the things I have horded over the years and it's time they went. Best part about it is that we will have more storage area and some pocket money to boot.

The decrease in my Ribas seems to be OK and my appetite has also picked some as well, will be watching my weight to see if the drop in meds and the increase in appetite contributes anything. Still have the Riba cough and is more active as the night time comes so hopefully as the summer nights approach this will help me some. All in all I am managing well and pushing forward.

Day 205

Hi

Today my itching and rash has improved some more and its still with me, but at least i am getting good relief from it finally.Felt good today and spent some time chillin out down the back of our property and picking up sticks and small branches, it was very calming with all the birds whistling and a nice gentle breeze wafting through.After lunch its too hot to be outside so i came in and just laid down and read my Steam engine book and had some more quiet time in the early evening went up to my man cave and did some more work there on the kitchen part and enjoyed it. Haven't had the inclination to be there for a while and I had a clear head and wanted to do something.

I think the drop in my Ribas as small as it was is having quite an impact as I feel much better in myself.....

Day 204

Hello there

Had my Share Care GP appointment today and all is going well and I have told her that my itching is starting to finally subside a little which I am so thank full for, I can tell you. Doctor checked out my rash and said that its starting to improve finally, we also discussed the Lagactil sedative I was given by the Liver Clinic and told her that the full dose is a bit strong and told her I will take less as its a liquid and its easy to adjust dose down.

She also mentioned that I seemed to be clear headed today and cheery, hmmmmm, maybe I am changing away from the beast and learning to manage some bothersome Sx. This is the 4Th night of 1 less Riba and to be honest I think its working....

Its good to see some of the members finishing up there Tx and starting on the next journey to recovery and I wish you all the best possible outcomes for you all.

Day 203

Me Again

Well I am pleased to say that tonight the itching has started to back off slightly, usually by now I would have nearly been ripping my skin off so hopefully in a weeks time or so if it improves, it will have been the Ribas. These Ribas have many different and nasty effects on us all and trying to figure out what will come next, one needs a crystal ball. I think in my case the dose for weight was too strong which enhanced the Sx of the rash and as my GP and Herpetologist told me, that its not going to completely go as long as I am feeding it from the inside, the only thing that can be done is manage it effects and in my case drop one of my Ribas. As to that well I think they are on the right track...
Like I mentioned before how strange it is that other sides don't seem that significant while I have had this rash, maybe because it consumes all my will power to get through it, just don't know....Keep Well and have a good week coming up...

Day 202

Hello

Well another fair day today except for the itching, but we are working on that and I think it may take a few days for the dose reduction of the Ribas to level out. In the mean time throw every resource I have at his nasty vile rash from hell

Had my 30th Injection tonight and all is well so far, just hope this rash doesn't take over on my stomach.... will make it hard for needle places but its not going to do that if I have anything to do with it..... Keep on Fighting everyone....

Day 201

Hi Everybody

Thankyou all for your kind support, as you know I went to my Liver Clinic today and saw my Nurse and the Herpetologist my 2 monthly appointment. Spoke to my Nurse before Specialist came in about the rash and also my recent extreme rage and she asked me some questions on these issues. The Specialist came in and the Nurse was telling him about the rash and the recent events with rage, he examined my rash and looked at my PCR results over the last 29 weeks and also the position in the TX run. He said due to my weight drop of 10 -11 kg and my response and the length of Tx already that I should reduce one of my ribas, as he feels weight for dosage now is a little over my threshold and he thinks the reduction wont hurt my Tx but may have an effect on reducing the extent of my rash. He also said to keep moisturiser up regularly with Sorbalene creme and definitely avoid the sun. My Riba dose now is 800mg per day instead of 1000mg.

Next was the issue of my rages and mood swings, my GP had rang my Clinic Nurse and discussed these issues with her, so she new at what point I was up to with my mental Sx, he prescribed Lagactril Syrup and I am to use it as a top up for my AD/s that are at the full dose now. So when I feel the need for something extra to calm me down, I am to take that when required only and not as a maintenance medication.Then there was my chest and severe cough to get looked at and he checked out my breathing and chest and gave me a prescription for some Heavy duty Anti-Biotics again, like I had a few month back. I picked up 3 boxes of meds this time and I don't have to go back till the 4th of December, so that i will be good as its a big day for me and 7 hours on the Bus does take it out of me abit.
Also nearly forgot, that I also got a HBV PCR RNA Quant test and Surface Antigen test and 2 other requests for ELFT's and FBC and Thyroid...
So all in all a good outcome today and very pleased that something is happening for recent problems.

Day 200

Me again

Well today is my 200 th day on TX and seems like only yesterday i started, Not, ah well, still moving forward and compared to many others on longer Tx, I am a newbie. Had to go to my GP today about my rash, its getting worse, even with all the cremes and potions and soaps and steroid cremes and anti-histamines, turns out I have 2 different rashes, the one on my lower legs she said was Vasculitus and the one all over the rest of my body is eczema.I told her I am going to Liver Clinic tomorrow and she said she would ring my Nurse and talk to her about where to from here, this afternoon I received a message from her that they will check me over tomorrow and get back to her and work something out.

Personally speaking I think maybe they might reduce my Ribas as I was 75 kg when started Tx and weight based I was to take 1000 mg a day, but now I only weigh 65 kg and I think that the Riba dose maybe above my thresh hold. When I take the morning dose of 2 capsules the itch and sores don't react too much and when I take night time dose of 3 ribas the rash seems to go nuts for the rest of the night. Just my take on it all from observation, so see what the Liver Specialist says tomorrow......
